The Story Behind the Bottle
Gavi has become a buzz word among lovers of Italian whites and the mineral, citrus crispness of Villa Broglia Gavi is exceptionally fine. Records show the estate's Piedmont vineyards date from AD 972. Originally called La Meirana, the property was purchased by textile entrepreneur Bruno Broglia in 1972. It's in the 'classico' part of the region, where the best grapes grow. Villa Broglia Gavi is crafted from hand harvested Cortese grapes and is top notch. It regularly scores 90 points or more, and three bicchieri (top rating) from 'wine bible' Gambero Rosso. Bruno's sons Paolo and Piero are delighted with the 5-Star 2015. It's a racy, dry classic, showing pristine floral and fresh almond character. Enjoy with antipasti, fish and white meats.
