The Wine
Ernest Hemingway would have loved Alta Sada Rosado, as it's just the sort of wine he would have drunk in the bars of Pamplona in the 1920s, but fresher. Our Buyer Beth is passionate about Spanish wines and Hemingway novels. She ventured to one of northeastern Spain's wildest wine regions to discover the ancient Garnacha vineyard behind this iconic rosé. The average age of the vines is 70 years and some are a century old. Bodega de Sada is hardly known abroad yet makes amazing wines thanks in part to winemaker María Eransus, who worked for years with the legendary Telmo Rodríguez. Packed with powerful strawberry, raspberry and cracked pepper flavours, Alta Sada is equally delicious served solo or with any tapas delicacy you might imagine.
